Introducing our Bourne to Ride Campaign

At Bourne to Garden, we believe in going the extra mile—literally! That's why we're gearing up for an extraordinary adventure: an 880-mile journey from Lands' End to John O'Groats, all on a ride-on lawnmower, with our Bourne to Ride campaign. But this isn't just any joyride—it's a mission to raise vital funds for three incredible charities while aiming to smash a Guinness World Record along the way!

The Journey Begins

Our ambitious journey kicks off on June 27, 2022, and we're aiming to reach our destination within just five days. It's a challenge that will push us to our limits, but we're fuelled by passion and purpose. With every mile we cover, we're dedicated to making a difference in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and supporting those on the road to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

Riding for a Cause

Our journey is about more than just setting records—it's about raising awareness and funds for causes close to our hearts. Colin, the Managing Director of Bourne to Garden, was inspired to embark on this extraordinary adventure after witnessing the impact of MND on his wife's late father. Determined to make a difference, Colin turned to his passion for grounds maintenance and the world of tractors and mowers to craft a unique fundraising initiative.

Colin's Vision

"The idea started from wanting to raise money for MND, following my wife’s late father suffering with this illness," says Colin. "I wanted to do something a bit different to raise awareness but also raise money for the research this charity funds into this cruel disease. As I own a company that uses tractors and mowers all day undertaking grounds maintenance, I did some research on mower challenges and discovered the current Guinness Book of Records holder for this challenge achieved an 874-mile route in 5 days, 8 hours and 36 minutes with an average speed of 9mph. This seemed a perfect fit and Bourne to Ride was born!"

Supporting Charities

Our fundraising efforts are dedicated to three remarkable charities:

  1. Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA): Funding essential research into MND, MNDA is at the forefront of the fight against this devastating illness.
  2. Masonic Charitable Foundation: As Charity Steward of his lodge, Colin is proud to support the MCF's mission to provide vital assistance to those in need, from local communities to international appeals.
  3. Kenward Trust: This charity offers a lifeline to individuals on the path to recovery from addiction, providing crucial support and housing for the homeless.
